Pacific Dental Services CEO Stephen Thorne Discusses Response to COVID-19 and TeleDentistry in Group Dentistry Now Podcast

Interview highlights new #DentalER grassroots campaign and how TeleDentistry increases access to care

IRVINE, CALIF. April 7, 2020 – Stephen E. Thorne IV, Founder and CEO of leading dental support organization Pacific Dental Services® (PDS), is featured in a new interview on The Group Dentistry Now Show. During the podcast, Mr. Thorne discusses the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the dental industry and the new #DentalER grassroots social media movement that was launched in response. The new campaign urges patients with dental emergencies to go to the dentist and preserve capacity at hospital emergency rooms so they can focus on treating patients with COVID-19 and other illnesses. Dentists throughout the United States are on the front lines in their communities providing emergency and essential dental care for patients. Mr. Thorne also discusses the launch of TeleDentistry, a significant new initiative from PDS that allows its supported dentists the ability to increase access to care for anyone with a smart phone, tablet or desktop computer. With TeleDentistry, PDS-supported dentists can review their patients’ symptoms via live video and assess what their best course of action is. For patients needing in-office care, same-day appointments will be scheduled for them. For more information on TeleDentistry, click HERE.
